Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 28, 2026
Overview
SmartCalcLab ("we", "us") provides free financial calculators for users in the United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use our website, including how we use cookies and third-party services such as Google AdSense and Google Tag Manager.
Calculator inputs
Our calculators are designed so that your inputs and calculation results are processed in your browser on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not store your calculator inputs or results on our servers for analytics or profiling.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we and our hosting providers may process limited technical data when you visit, such as:
- IP address (often in truncated or aggregated form)
- Browser type, device type, and general location (region/country)
- Pages viewed, approximate time on site, and referring URL
- Server logs for security, abuse prevention, and debugging
Retention periods depend on our infrastructure and security needs; we do not use this data to reconstruct your calculator inputs.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential mechanisms where needed (for example, theme preference or basic site functionality). We also allow third-party cookies and similar technologies when you use features provided by Google, as described below.
Google Tag Manager (GTM)
If enabled, we load Google Tag Manager to deploy and manage measurement and marketing tags. GTM may cause your browser to load scripts from Google that set cookies or read device information. How Google processes data is described in Google's policies. See Google Privacy Policy.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to show ads on our site. Google may use cookies, mobile advertising IDs, or similar technologies to:
- show personalized or non-personalized ads
- measure ad delivery and limit how often you see an ad
- detect fraud and abuse
Google acts as an independent controller or processor depending on the service; details are in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google Privacy Policy.
You can manage ad personalization for Google ads (where available) via Google Ads Settings or About ads.
Your choices (cookies)
When you first visit, we may show a notice about cookies. Your choice is stored locally in your browser (for example, to remember consent). You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect how ads or analytics features behave.
U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, state laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA) may give you rights to access, delete, or opt out of certain uses of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. Some online advertising activities may be treated as "selling" or "sharing" under state law; you can use industry opt-out tools and browser settings, and Google's ad settings linked above, to limit personalized advertising.
To exercise rights that apply to information we hold directly, contact us at the email below. We may need to verify your request.
Children
SmartCalcLab is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children as defined by applicable law.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
